We've teamed up with Shannon from Diary of A Lady Gardener to transform the overgrown garden area of the school with the aim of turning it into a useable outdoor learning environment for our children.
Shannon runs beginner gardening workshops across the UK and has launched a successful podcast for the plant obsessed. Alongside this, she is breaking ground on her environmentally conscious flower farm and developing 'The Mini Gardeners Club'. In June this year, her Protect our Playground garden, created in partnership with Plastic Free Devon, featured at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.
So far, we've held 2 garden days where parents, staff and members of the local community volunteered to help clear the overgrown area - the transformation has already been incredible and we're extremely grateful to everyone who has helped.
Now we are looking to add some fencing to the rear boundary hedge to ensure the site is safe for our children - we'd love to hear from any companies who might be able to help or donate materials for this. Please get in touch with the school office by emailing admin@landkey-primary.devon.sch.uk if you think you could help.
